What types of programs does AVRC offer?

Through partnerships with nonprofits, agencies and service providers, AVRC offers support in key areas: Job Training, Placement, and Workforce Assistance – Connecting veterans to career opportunities and skill development. Health & Benefits Navigation – Linking veterans to healthcare services and mental health support. Education Access & Skills Development – Helping veterans pursue higher education and vocational training. Family Support & Legal Aid – Supporting the navigation of legal issues, childcare, housing insecurity and caregiver resources. Community & Peer Support – Fostering connection and camaraderie among Alabama’s veteran community.

Who can use AVRC services?

All Alabama veterans, active-duty service members transitioning to civilian life, and their families are welcome to access AVRC programs and resources.

Where is the AVRC located?

The AVRC’s headquarters is in Montgomery, Alabama, and veterans statewide can also access services through our online platform. This digital hub connects veterans and families to care coordination and local resources anywhere in the state.

Why was the AVRC created?

Alabama already has a powerful network of veteran service organizations, agencies, and community partners. The AVRC was created to bring these groups together under one umbrella – making it easier for veterans and their families to find the right support quickly and efficiently. By strengthening connections among existing programs, AVRC ensures no veteran is left behind.
